DIANA REYNOLDS ROOME is a journalist whose articles on
a wide range of social issues have appeared in the United States, Britain, Canada,
France, and Germany. Raised in England and educated at York and Oxford universities,
she taught English literature and language to students in England and Nepal, and
later worked as an editor of educational publications in London. She lives with
her husband and two sons in Mountain View, California.
