James Bach (http://www.satisfice.com) is founder
and principal consultant of Satisfice, Inc. James cut
his teeth as a programmer, tester, and SQA manager in
Silicon Valley and the world of market-driven software
development. He has worked at Apple, Borland, a couple
of start-ups, and some consulting companies, including
a stint as chief scientist at STLabs, an independent
software testing laboratory. He was part of the team
that defined the body of knowledge covered by the Certified
Software Quality Engineer program for the American Society
for Quality, and has served on curriculum advisory boards
for the Rochester Institute of Technology and the International
Technological University.
Through his articles and seminars on good enough quality,
exploratory testing, and heuristic test design, James
helps individual software testers think clearly about
testing, cope with complex projects, and answer the
questions, "What am I doing here?" and "What
should I do now?"
